Playing With Identity: Omani Artists Exhibit In Rome

Omani contemporary artists, Hassan Al Meer and Muzna Al Musafir (of Stal Gallery), exhibited their collaboration in the Italian city of Rome, curated by Manuela De Leonardis.

After participating in the Castelnuovo Fotografia Festival in September of this year, the works of
Hassan Al Meer and Muzna Al Musafir were displayed in Rome at the Acta International Gallery from October 11th through October 31st.

The exhibition’s concept focused on the civil, cultural and legal habits of people and the idea of expressing themselves as the voice of their “cultural identity. An identity that must be defended by globalisation, prejudices and closures, as well as by self-referencing, told through paradox, irony and a genuine sense of humour.

This marked the Omani artists’ first exhibition in Italy. With more exciting projects and milestones lined-up for the coming months.
